Mayority (N-O-W)
|
|
project description
Even before the actual production of the game, I already developed multiple paper prototypes to help to flesh out the game mechanics and game concept as a whole. Likewise, during the actual development, a lot of feature prototyping and rapid prototyping with Unity helped to define the game systems and mechanics. Through detailed prototyping a lot of the development can be accelerated and unnecessary detours avoided.
Mayority is a city building game for iPhone, Android, PC, Mac and Linux. In Mayority the player gets thrown into the role of mayor for a small rural town that suddenly has a steady influx of new citizens. It's the players task to look after the needs and wants of his new protegés or he won't be mayor for long. The game is the result of an original concept by Paul Zuckermann and me. I have worked on Mayority from original concept to paper protypes, several digital prototypes to the final product

NUTS
project description
Even though NUTS unfortunately never went into proper development, nonetheless a lot of prototyping work was done. A comprehensive paper prototype that incorporated miniatures from other table top wargames was developed and iterated. Developing early prototypes like this help to identify weak spots early on and helps planning of the project.
Battleboards is a augmented reality Tabletop War Game based on an original concept by Jaron Schulz and me. It was supposed to be the first game of its kind, combining tabletop wargaming together with augmented reality to create a unique experience.

Bands

project description
Apart from developing the earliest digital prototypes my main task during the conception of Bands was to elaborate already existing elements and enhance them. A lot of the concepts for that made it into the game later on started on a whiteboard and went from there into digital prototypes.

Krazy Kindergarten

project description
This project stood out with its innovative elements which were extensively tested with two digital prototypes. I was mainly responsible for parts of the facial recognition and translating that data into gameplay elements. The prototypes helped to connect the mechanics and systems with the voice chat and facial recognition.
Krazy Kindergarten is a two player Cooperative Simulation in which the players try to control a hoard of kindergarten Children via Voice and Face Recognition. The Simulation was developed and presented for the "Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2010" at the Mediadesign Hochschule Berlin.

Labcon
project description
LabCon was one of the first complete game projects I realized from start to finish and prototyping the core mechanics for this game were my first steps into bringing my own ideas to reality.
Labcon is a turn based Strategy Game in which advanced AI Kitchen Tools fight genetically altered rodents. The game was developed in 4 weeks as a student project by a team of five.

Learning Games

project description
This was one of my very earliest projects for which I was supposed to simply prototype some ideas which showcase the connection between the physical measurement units and biological principles. Somehow this turned into me developing that whole part of the game.
In Cooperation with Freie Universität Berlin originated a series of small learning games about physical and biological principles.
